Some links may only be available to Military members
& dependents.
Of course each base has their own website. When looking at the individual sites, you
really have to dig sometimes to find the links you want. Look through all of the pages and open
everything. Often, it's hard to find the
FSS (Force Support Squadron), MWR, and other links. You may even want to just search for "base name FF" or "base name MWR" to find those
specific sites. There are also SO MANY sites
dedicated to help the military & families, most of the ones I mention below
will have TONS of links to others. If
you still can't find what you need, contact your A&FRC (Airmen & Family
Readiness Center). They are usually so
awesome at finding out ANYTHING you could ever want. They are there to help you!
Air Force Community
- The official site for Air Force Community information.
Army Wife Talk
Radio - A weekly podcast/radio show.
Not all topics apply to me, but that have over 250 recorded shows that
you can listen to. The sound quality
takes a bit to get used to, but I've found some useful information. I often skip through the show to listen to only
the main topic.
Base Guide (Milspouse.com)
- A site dedicated to military spouses.
Covers a variety of topics and interests such as base information,
military news, blogs, forums, list of resources, contests, etc. I don't typically participate in forums, but
I have found them useful to browse through...not really for facts, but just
sort of 'heads up' information. Things
to be aware of when I find myself in similar situations.
Commissary - The
base grocery store. By logging in, I
have access to current sales and events in my store.
DFAS (Defense
Finanace and Accounting Service) - Official site of everything relating to
money. PCS, TDY, Records, Pay Tables,
etc... for military, civilian, contractors & vendors of the DoD.
Exchange - Basically the Army & Air Force worldwide
department store.
ICE (Interactive
Customer Evaluation) - The official DoD site for customers to rate services
provided worldwide. If you want
something changed, they only way is to say something. I also love giving good feedback. It happens so infrequently, that it just
might make someone's day. Oh, and the
supervisors really do receive all feedback.
Military
Installations - My first stop for the most information about a specific
base.
Military OneSource
- The site military members and dependents are ALWAYS directed to. 24/7 help lines/counseling/coaching on any
number of topics including: Military life & Deployment, Family &
Recreation, Health & Relationships, Career & Education, Financial &
Legal, Crisis & Disasters, and more.
You can pretty much find anything you need here, or at least a link to
it.
